Nana Gregory

It starts with gang graffiti scraped from Los Angeles walls, or fragments of paint flaking from stairwells in cities with crumbling buildings - Venice, Istanbul and others - or from old wooden fishing boats in Alexandria or Port Manech. Gregory lets these "found" materials guide her in the painstaking construction of her collages. Looking at them, you might be drawn into a contemplative silence or see visual rhythms or natural formations. These works enchant by evoking a multitude of feelings and associations.
